August 5 2009 Beautiful Moon

Welcome to my first post. Please stop by often and visit. You never know what you might find here.

Tonight we had the most beautiful full moon. My camera could not even begin to capture the beauty of it.
It brought to mind a poem that I shared with my brother, children, nephew, and grandchildren.
It's one of our favorites during autumn and at Halloween.

The Highwayman
By Alfred Noyes
The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the highwayman came riding--riding---riding,
The highwayman came riding up to the old inn door.
You must find a book or look this poem up online. The story is so beautiful and the poetry is just magical.
